On 17 October 2025, the EnowAgbor Foundation (EAF) organised a Breast Cancer Awareness session at Shell Nsimeyong in Yaoundé. The session brought together more than 35 participants from the local community, including women, men and young people.
The session focused on the early detection and prevention of breast cancer, as well as access to treatment, with the aim of empowering participants with the knowledge and confidence to take charge of their health.
Health professionals led interactive discussions and practical demonstrations on conducting self-breast examinations, recognising warning signs, and seeking early medical advice. Participants also learned about the importance of regular screenings and maintaining a healthy lifestyle as preventive measures.
Many participants expressed gratitude for the initiative, sharing how the session had transformed their understanding of breast health.
“I never knew how to do a self-examination before today,” said one participant. 'Now I feel equipped to monitor my health and educate other women in my neighbourhood.'
According to the Foundation’s spokesperson, 'Raising awareness is an essential step in saving lives. We are committed to ensuring that women, especially those in underserved communities, have access to vital health information and services.'
This activity forms part of the Foundation’s wider efforts to promote health awareness and improve the well-being of women and girls in Cameroon, in line with its mission to build a just and equitable society.
As part of our ongoing health outreach programme, the EnowAgbor Foundation will continue to organise similar educational sessions in other communities across the country, fostering preventive health practices and supporting women’s empowerment.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the participants, volunteers and partners who contributed to the success of this event. Together, we reaffirm our commitment to giving 'Attention to All'.
